Standing as a prime example of the \u2018don\u2019t ask, don\u2019t get\u2019 mantra, Spike Lee has recalled the time he asked Prince<\/a> for one of his highly bespoke signature guitars, <\/a>and wasn\u2019t met with the warmest of responses.<\/p>\n

The Purple One had a wild taste in guitars, with his eye-catching Cloud guitars \u2013 one of which sold for $900,000 last summer<\/a> \u2013 and his Sadowsky-made Telecaster<\/a> just two examples of that. Lee, it turns out, was an admirer, but didn’t get his way when he tried to claim one of his own. Initially, at least.<\/p>\n
