The nu-metal giants had been on hiatus since vocalist Chester Bennington\u2019s death in 2017, and their much-craved reformation was marked by some notable personnel changes.<\/p>\n<p>Vocalist Emily Armstrong was recruited to front the band, and long-time guitarist Brad Delson announced he would be stepping away from touring duties<\/a>, with Alex Feder confirmed as his on-stage replacement.<\/p>\n<aside data-block-type=\"embed\" data-render-type=\"fte\" data-skip=\"dealsy\" data-widget-type=\"seasonal\" class=\"hawk-base\" \/>\n<p>Now, in a fresh interview with <em>GW<\/em>, Delson has added more context behind the decision, and discussed whether he would ever return to the stage at some point down the line.<\/p>\n<aside data-component-name=\"Recirculation:ArticleRiver\" data-nosnippet=\"\" class=\"pt-3 pb-4 mb-4 clear-both border-solid border-y border-neutral-300\">\n<span class=\"font-article-heading block pb-3 !text-base font-bold uppercase sm:text-sm text-[#333]\"><br \/>\nYou may like<br \/>\n<\/span><\/p>\n<\/aside>\n<p>\u201cAlex is just so good-looking that the world could not resist him,\u201d Delson laughs of the switch. \u201cEven if I wanted to hold him back, his charm is like wish fulfillment. It\u2019s a self-fulfilling prophecy.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>In reality, though, seven years out of the limelight gave Delson chance to re-evaluate his professional life. I love making new things. That\u2019s what energizes me personality-wise.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThat\u2019s why I decided to focus my energy on that area and have Alex as my world-traveler doppelganger. I think he brings a lot to the show.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Though he isn\u2019t directly involved in the show night-on-night, Delson has been instrumental in what the band delivers on the road. His behind-the-scenes role, it turns out, extends far beyond hitting the record button.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI&#8217;m really proud of the show,\u201d he says. \u201cEven though I\u2019m not onstage, I put a lot of my creative love into the show. I\u2019ve always been obsessed with the setlist, the concept of the show, and how it flows.
