2024 Year in Review<\/strong><\/a>:<\/strong> It\u2019s no secret that the Who guitarist Pete Townshend tends to stick with the more old-school guitar designs \u2013 from Strats to Les Pauls and SGs, not to mention Rickenbackers.<\/p>\n

What he\u2019s not known for is playing heavy metal speed machines made by companies like Jackson.<\/p>\n

But that all changed at the beginning of the year. In an interview with Guitarist<\/em><\/a>, he explained how he\u2019d been impressed by the light-gauge strings, double-locking tremolo system and whammy bar on his latest acquisition.<\/p>\n

\u201cI was playing faster, no question,\u201d he said. \u201cI was playing at three times the speed I normally play at\u2026 because these guitars are built for a particular kind of thing. So I\u2019m still learning and I\u2019m still having fun with guitars.\u201d<\/p>\n
